Our 2022 Soirée For A Cure

This year’s Soirée For A Cure was postponed due to Covid restrictions in February so our event on the 25th of June this year was eagerly anticipated by the 450 people who attended. Our goals of supporting Professor Brandon Wainwright with his research into children’s brain cancer and our 3-year goal of raising $1 million dollars were both reached. 

THE EVENT

Soirée For A Cure is Brisbane’s premier children’s cancer research gala fundraiser. In our third year the Soirée will once again raise money to fund a children’s cancer project from one of Brisbane’s most reputable research institutes. 

In our first three years we have successfully funded three amazing children’s cancer research projects from QIMR Berghofer and Griffith University and  UQ Diamantina Institute .  In 2022 at our event we were successful in not only funding Professor Brandon Wainwright’s project but also exceeding 1 million dollars raised in our 3 year history. 

RESEARCH WE HAVE SUPPORTED

In the last three years the Soirée For A Cure has raised over $1,000,000 for cancer research, support and prevention. In 2020 we funded Professor Brian Day at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute ($100,000). In 2021 Professor Des Richardson from Griffith University’s Institute for Drug Discovery ($150,000) and in 2022 we funded Professor Brandon Wainwright from  UQ Diamantina Institute ($200,000) . Due to the success of the event, the Soirée has been able to support additional Tour de Cure research, support and prevention projects.

OUR COMMITTEE

Our Soirée For A Cure Committee is a group of passionate Tour de Cure ambassadors. Whilst our Committee started as cyclists raising funds for the epic Tour de Cure charity rides, we now boast a more diverse group of committed members who are passionate about finding a cure for cancer. Collectively our small Committee has raised more than $750,000 for cancer research through the Soirée and other fundraising endeavours.

TICKETS

Tickets for next years Soirée For A Cure will be available later in the year. Your ticket includes a sumptuous 3 course dinner including magnificent wine donated by our Barossa Valley winery sponsors. In addition, your night includes wonderful keynote speakers and entertainment along with exciting silent and live auctions of magnificent prizes, raffles and much more. Tickets are strictly limited so please get in quick when tickets are released.

COVID-19 POLICY

As a cancer charity fundraiser we often have guests at our Soirée who are immunocompromised due to their treatment. We are obligated to protect them by minimising the risk of exposure to COVID-19. Whilst we will not be checking your vaccine status we recommend attendees be fully vaccinated before the event.

If the Soirée is postponed or cancelled due to a COVID-19 lockdown or restriction we will roll your ticket forward to the rescheduled date, provide you a refund, or use your ticket value as a tax deductible donation if you desire.

Our partners enable us to maximise the event flow-through which is currently in excess of 80 cents in each dollar getting to where it needs to go. Please support our sponsors with your business.
