‘A new and effective combination therapy for children with brain cancer’ – Professor Brandon Wainwright (UQ Diamantina Institute)
In early 2022 the Soirée For A Cure Committee visited five of Brisbane’s premier cancer research facilities to meet with the best scientists in the the children’s cancer research space. We received multiple project submissions from each institute, of which 7 were shortlisted and independently reviewed by Tour de Cure’s experienced Grants Committee.
The Soirée For A Cure Committee along with Tour de Cure’s Grants Committee unanimously supported a proposal from Professor Brandon Wainwright (Director of Children’s Brain Cancer Centre, UQ Diamantina Institute), as the successful recipient of our 2022 Soirée grant.
Professor Wainwright’s project is aimed at bringing a new and effective combination therapy for children with brain cancer to a stage where it can enter clinical trials.
